On Friday 11th November, Baroness Berridge opened the Simon Richmond Music Centre and addressed the girls at their prize giving ceremony.
The music centre was the inspiration of the former Chairman of the Governing Body, Simon Richmond, who died suddenly aged just 52 and his family were invited to this special occasion.
“I was very honoured that my first official opening of a building was this music centre. After meeting members of his family and spending time at the school, it was clear Mr Richmond left an enormous legacy in the life of the pupils, and the music centre is a fitting tribute to him. Also, presenting the prizes and addressing the girls was a marvellous privilege, as I still remember what was said at the prize giving address when I left school.”
